If I am able to feed her and bathe her daily, but have not the joy to overcome routine tasks, then I am nothing.
If I am able to sing her to sleep each night, but lack the insight to see her unique worth, then I am nothing.
If I am able to protect her life while she's yet fragile, but have not the courage to let her grow strong, then I am nothing.
If I am able to train her with consistency and teach her with kindness, but have not a character worthy for her to pattern, then I am nothing.
If I am able to mend a bruised knee with a kiss, but have not the time to kneel into her world then I am nothing.
If I am able to build a haven of safety in my home, but have not the understanding that makes my arms a true resort, then I am nothing.
If I am able to offer up my time, my faith, and my life year after year, but have not made the investment of prayer, tears, laughter and love into her life, then I am nothing. Nothing.
Julie

I love this Julie. You really are something! I definitely have learned a lot from you, especially as a mom. And we all can learn so much from this. Right & write on!
