During those times
I lack the evidence
of life –
the essence.
I falter among
down and captured.
Desiring
to quiet
the grisly details
of what’s to come.
During those times
I possess the silence –
the isolation.
I exist between
already and not yet.
Becoming
an element
in the offering
of my own faith.
During those times
I confess the struggle –
the depletion.
I breathe equally
of sweet and bitter.
Collecting,
with my listening,
the velvety noise
of God’s grace.

Thanks for the prayers, Phyllis. And thanks for reading!

The things you say must touch the hearts of all who read what you write. I know they do me, and I thank you. You express yourself so wonderfully and its both uplifting and sad at the same time. Yet, you are on the road, with God's grace as you know. Prayers going your way!
